Wounded soldier and family get new home in Fuquay-Varina

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) – A wounded soldier and his family has a new home tonight thanks to a local organization.
After a special flyover above the new home in Fuquay-Varina, a parachutist brought the keys to the home to the ground where a crowd gathered to help Sgt. Jimmion Clayton, his wife and 3-year-old daughter celebrate their new home.
The home was made possible by Operation Coming Home.
Sgt. Clayton served six years in the North Carolina Army National Guard and medically retired in 2014 after suffering shrapnel wounds in Afghanistan.
Since the injury, Clayton said he’s struggled with depression, but he now wants to help other veterans and is appreciative of all that his family has received.
