Teen charged in double murder in Sanford

SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — Sanford police say that a teen was charged Saturday evening in a double murder shooting that happened early Saturday.
The incident was first reported just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday, when police responded to a residence at the 1400 block of Goldsboro Avenue in reference to a shots fired call.
Upon arrival, police discovered that a man was shot and was lying on the ground outside the residence.
Other officers then went to Central Carolina Hospital and learned there were two additional gunshot victims.
Those two victims were transported separately by personal vehicles from Goldsboro Avenue, Sanford Police said.
The first victim, Randy Curtis Kinney, 35, of Sanford, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel, Sanford Police said in a press release.
The second victim, Shawn Porter Hooker, 37, of Sanford, died later at the hospital from a gunshot wound, police said.
