Sanford high basketball star in court facing murder charges
A Sanford High School basketball star appear in court today, facing first-degree murder charges in the deaths of two men.
18-year-old Namique Farrow, in addition to two counts of first-degree murder, also faces one count of assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a shooting Saturday morning.
Randy Kinney, 35, was pronounced dead at a house in the 1400 block of Goldsboro Avenue in Sanford at about 3:30 a.m. Shawn Hooker, 37, was also killed while a third victim was shot in the lower leg but was treated and released from the hospital.
Kinney’s father says his son was a disc jockey who was at the house to discuss logistics for a party there later that day.
“He was coming up from the back of the house to the side of the house, when he turned the corner, that when the shots rung out,” Thorman Kinney said.
