Raleigh Police track source of Millbrook bomb threat

A tweet sent to WNCN showed an apparent bomb threat made over Instagram.RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Some sharp detective work by the Raleigh Police helped identify what is believed to be the source of a bomb threat at Millbrook High School March 7.
That day, multiple students at Millbrook got a message reading, “I’m gonna blow up Millbrook at 11:30 a.m. today, so if you have friends start telling them bye.”
The number was tracked to a voice over IP application hosted by a company called Pinger, according to a search warrant.
The police contacted the company for information and records. The internet protocol information came back to Millbrook and police were able to connect the phone to a man whose wife has a child at Millbrook.
The phone was found to have connected with an internet protocol address at Millbrook next to the student’s classroom at the time of the threat.
