NC man faces kidnapping and rape charges, Fayetteville police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Fayetteville man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a sex assault that happened earlier this year, police said.
Edward Lee Alexander, 46, of the 500 block of Anson Drive is charged with second degree rape and first degree kidnapping.
Police said the charges stem from an incident involving a 24-year-old person that Alexander knew. The incident happened on Feb. 4 of this year in the area of Pamalee Drive and Murchison Road, according to police.
Alexander surrendered to authorities at the Cumberland County Detention Center where detectives served him with warrants, officials said.
Alexander is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond.
