NC duo run from police for no reason, cause crash, SWAT situation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A large police presence, including a SWAT team, responded to north Charlotte Friday after two people ran from police, caused a three-vehicle accident then ran into nearby woods, according to police.
DUO CAUSES CRASH, SWAT RESPONSEThe crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northlake West Drive and W.T. Harris Boulevard. Police told affiliate WBTV that two people were in a rental car when they saw an officer.
The duo reportedly then began running from police in the car, even though no one was trying to stop them.
The pair’s rental car then crashed into two other vehicles and the two ran away on foot. At least one firearm was found in their vehicle.
