More than 25,000 without power as winter storm hits NC
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Duke Energy Progress reported about 8:30 p.m. that the number of outages in North Carolina was down to 25,588.
The number had earlier been close to 30,000.
Among the hardest hit counties at 8:30 p.m. were Durham, with more than 8,000 customers without power, Wake, with more than 7,000 customers affected, Orange, with more than 4,000 affected, and Lee and Chatham, with more than 2,000 affected in each.
