Masked gunman robs Morrisville drug store
MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A masked gunman robbed a Morrisville drug store just after it opened Sunday morning, officials say.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. at the CVS at 1990 Northwest Cary Parkway, Morrisville officials said in a news release.
The man entered the store, pulled out a gun and forced the CVS workers to give him “all the money,” the news release said.
CVS workers told CBS North Carolina that the young woman working the register during the robbery just started a few months ago.
“I’m kind of surprised. Normally we don’t have those kind of problems,” said Linda Hunter. “That’s why I feel so safe here.”
Hunter and her daughter were shopping at the CVS Sunday evening. They did not know about the robbery until CBS North Carolina reporters told her about the incident.
She says she never thinks twice about shopping by herself along Cary Parkway.
“We have a good police force here, they’re always out watching. I can walk at night. I feel safe because they’re always around,” said Hunter
She says after Sunday’s armed robbery, she may rethink how safe the community is.
The suspect is about 5 feet, 3 inches tall and was wearing a ski mask, a blue glove on one hand and a white glove on the other, officials said.
If anyone has information that could assist the Morrisville Police, call Detective P. Smith at 919-463-1626.
