Durham woman shot during home invasion; suspect arrested

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – The Durham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Thursday morning home invasion that resulted in a woman being shot.

The woman was treated for the non life-threatening injury after a male suspect fled the scene around 11 a.m. Deputies apprehended the suspect on the Durham Freeway near the crime scene.

Investigators are also looking for a white Ford Taurus that was seen leaving the residence on the 2100 block of Ellis Road.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office says the home invasion does not appear to be random.
