Denial of students wearing skinny jeans brings negative feedback

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Feedback to the New Hanover County Board of Education over a proposed tightening of the student dress code has been overwhelmingly negative, according to documents released by the school system late last week.
The proposed changes to the dress code would include prevention of students wearing skinny jeans or leggings, unless they are covered by a top or dress. The discussion came up during an April committee meeting.
Information presented to the board last week showed twelve pages of comments via Twitter since May 17th, with only one tweet showing support.
