Dead man found in river on Fort Bragg, officials say

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities say that a dead person was found in a river on the Fort Bragg military base over the weekend.
The man was found on Sunday afternoon in the Little River on Fort Bragg and Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are investigating, US Army officials said in a press release Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said the body is “believed to be that of a 25-year-old man” who they say has no military ties.
However, authorities said that officials are working to make a positive identification.
“At this point, we have no indication or evidence of foul play, but have not completely ruled it out while we conduct an independent and thorough death investigation,” said Chris Grey, the spokesman for Army Criminal Investigation Division.
