Crash closes I-85 in both directions in Vance County
MIDDLEBURG, N.C. (WNCN) — Interstate 85 is closed in both directions north of Henderson in Vance County on Sunday afternoon.
Both closures are because of vehicle crashes, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The area has recently experienced several crash-related closures in construction zones.
I-85 southbound is closed near Manson Drewry Road near Henderson at mile marker 222 after a crash around 3 p.m., officials said.
Northbound I-85 is closed near US-1 (Broad Street) near Henderson at mile marker 221.
Detours have been set up.
Southbound motorists should take Exit 226 and turn left onto Ridgeway-Drewery Road. Continue until reaching US-1/158 and turn right onto US-1/158 South. Continue on US-1/158, past US-1 Bypass, until reaching US-158 Bypass. Turn right onto US-1 Bypass to re-access I-85 South at Exit 215.
Northbound motorists should take Exit 215 for US-158 East, then turn left ot stay on US-158 East. Follow US-158 East continuning past US-1 Bypass to stay on US-158 East/US-1 North. Turn left onto the ramp near Flemingtown Road to re-access I-85 North at Exit 220.
