6th victim comes forward in child sex case involving Fayetteville coach, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A sixth victim came forward and new child-sex related charges were filed against a basketball coach in Fayetteville, police said Tuesday.
The most recent victim, a boy, was 15 years old at the time of the alleged offenses involving Rodney Scott of Fayetteville on February 12 and 13 of this year, police said.
Scott, 50, who was the coach of an AAU basketball team in Fayetteville, was originally arrested May 2 on a sex offense charge involving a juvenile.
Since his arrest, five other victims have come forward.  (Click here to read full coverage of the cases)
The most recent victim decided to come forward after seeing the news coverage of Scott’s arrest, Fayetteville Police said Tuesday.
Scott now faces an additional count of statutory sex offense with a child, one count of crimes against nature, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
