200-300 people blocked Raleigh road while breaking drug laws, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman who police say pointed a gun at a Raleigh officer early Saturday was in a group of up to 300 people blocking a road and breaking drug laws during a large disturbance in Raleigh, officials now say.
Derricka Lewis, 22, of Raleigh was arrested she pointed a gun at officers, police said.
On Saturday, police said there was a large crowd and drug activity in the area of the 500 block of Brent Road just after midnight.
Now, police revealed on Sunday that the group was between 200 and 300 people and that they were “committing drug violations” while blocking the road.
Police also revealed more information about what they say Lewis did before her arrest.
A police officer saw a car try to leave the area and the vehicle’s driver made an “unsafe movement,” police say.
