1104 Iredell St–Blalock House


This home received a historical plaque from Preservation Durham. The following information comes from the plaque application

From 1921 – 1987, the home was occupied by Reuben A. Blalock and Lelia Pearl Balock, his wife.

Reuben A Blalock was a machinist (1915), a foreman at Tar Heel Hosiery Mill (1920); Superintendent at Marvin Carr Hosiery Mills (1927); and watchman (1960) at Durham Hosiery Mills in Durham, NC.

From Aug. 1988 – Mar. 2005, the home was occupied by Claudia A. Dibona. Occupation Professor, Duke University, Durham, NC

From 2005 – 2010 the home was occupied by Blair Kendall and Ariel Rogers, his wife. Occupations: unknown

From 2010 to  at least the time of the plaque application (2011) the home was occupied by Lauren E. Crigler and Peter John Earsman, her husband. Lauren Crigler was a Human Resources Consultant; Peter Earsman was a businessman




1935 Expansion and completion of second story living area.
2007 Kitchen remodeled and updated.
